Microprovider Advice and Support Programme

This is free and structured advice and support programme for individuals wanting to set themselves up, or improve their existing enterprise to offer care and support services on a self-employed basis to people in Devon.

Who is the programme aimed at?

Many people with caring skills are keen to support people locally but can be daunted by things like regulations, responsibilities or tax.  Maybe these are people with a  couple of hours to spare each week or possibly someone who wants to do more provided it fits around their other commitments.  They could be professionals who have recently retired or perhaps individuals who used to work for a care home or agency. Sometimes it can be people who looked after a family member then realised they enjoyed this role much more than they anticipated .

The advice and support programme aims to give people with an initial idea the skills and knowledge to turn this into a reality. At the end of the journey,  they can feel confident in offering a service that is safe, legal and hopefully fits in with their own work-life balance aspirations.
